I love my job. Well, loved.
The new head teacher left early Wednesday and said "Here is the sunblock, put it on 10 minutes before going outside and sign the kids medical forms saying you put it on." I agreed and did exactly as she said. We went outside where it was 80 degrees, and the kids began to sweat, and were wiped sweat off their face with their arms, and some just let it run down their faces.
Then I looked over at one of my little girls who started to cry. I found no reason for her to keep crying but she kept rubbing her eyes. So, I looked at her sweaty, teary eyed, face and realized her eyes are red and irritated. I took my kids inside and called for help from the director. We rinsed their eyes (by this time 4 of my 6 kids were crying) and washed all the sunblock off their faces and arms. Then the director grabs the sunblock.
Apparently, last week a memo went out to all the head teachers that this particular brand was not sweat proof and water proof and had irritated the preschooler's eyes, so it was NOT to be used.
The director asked me where I found this bottle and I explained that my head teacher had got it out of our medication container and handed it to me. I also explained that it matched what the medical sheets for the kids had said. "Generic Baby Sunblock. Applied to exposed skin as needed." This was Dol.Lar Gen.eral baby sunblock. Obviously generic and it said "Baby" on it.
So, I explained to 3 or the 4 parents what had happened, and they laughed and some even said they had made the same mistake before, no biggie. But the last mom was pissed. Apparently the office said "Oh yeah, the teacher just put too much on her and didn't get it all rubbed in and that is why her eyes are like that." The Director didn't want everyone to know that A) she had used petty cash to buy the sunblock for each room. B) A failure in communication was the reason this sunblock was in our room and C) That the school was in any way at fault. Just the teacher.
This teacher.
So, I got a call this morning. I am off for te next 2 days ("Just so everyone can calm down.") and this mother has requested that I "never work with her child again". Yep, because I am an idiot who can't rub sunblock in and uses too much. Apparently, even though I have been applyng sunblock to people professionally for 6 years, and personally since I could walk, I don't know enough to rub it in.
My coworkers who were not there to witness the truth, are also being told the same thing.
And now, I am a sub. The lowest sub on the totem pole (Which is actually a good thing if it is a real totem pole). Want to know how many people are ahead of me? 31. If 25 teachers can't cover a shift, and 6 other subs can't cover a shift, then I get to work it. I have seen the girl ahead of me maybe 3 times in the 4 months I have been there.
What am I guilty of? Doing what my head teacher told me to do.
Finances.
HA! What finances? We have had to spend all of our savings in the last 2 months. We have NONE. No more. At all. We have exactly $198.74 in our bank. That is checking. Because I had to empty the savings completely this week so we could afford to pay off our debt. We have gone from having $6000 to having $198.74! In 2 months. And now I won't be bringing anything in. Again. I will be lucky to make $100 in one pay period!
Gee, who's real name is George, told me to see about support. I doubt we qualify. If they go by last year we won't. We will be making $30,000 less this year than last year. I have worked for a much lower pay since leaving the evil company and going to the school, and I haven't worked as much, and now I pretty much won't be working at all.
What the hell am I going to do? At this rate, we won't even be able to buy baby things. It will be essentials only. Crib. No changing table. Receiving blankets. No snuggly silky blankets. I probably won't even be able to buy my own kid an outfit at this rate! Screw maternity clothes. If I am not working I might as well stay naked and maybe buy 1 or 2 shirts for when I have to go out. We are so screwed. George's check, is enough to cover the basics, like bills. And cheap cheap cheap, not enough to keep up with my pregnant appetite, groceries. My checks always covered groceries and spending money. If I had to go on bedrest, that is considered temporary disability and at least I would get something!
So, I guess I will fill out a request for assistance at Job and Family services and live off the government for awhile. Because honestly, it is hard enough to find a job around here, let alone find one when you're pregnant.
UGH! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
Our little Prince arrived on November 13, 2011. After years of trying, we finally have our dream come true. This blog will be where I share anecdotes and the wonders of raising our son, so that some day, Huddy can enjoy reading about his gestation, birth, and childhood.

WORK
Work killed me today. The preschoolers are graduating, so they had a carnival. Because the space they held the carnival in was close to my room, they booted us out so they could use our room for some games. Meaning my toddlers, between 19 months and 28 months, got to play in a preschool room that had nt been toddler proofed. Ten toddlers. Chalk. Markers. Little pieces. Scissors. One big comfy teacher chair. (We don't have one in our room so they fought over this nonstop)
My favorite maternity shirt (I have like 3) is covered in chalky handprints. By arms are killing me from lifting. MY BACK! Oh, my! I could hardly get up the stairs to talk to Gee. Yes, it was a slightly more stressful day than usual, but really, I think my body just forgot how to work in the last few weeks.
I am still trying to fix my schedule. I am fooling myself and trying to sleep more than 6 hours at a time. I would like to go to bed at 10, pee at 4, wake up at 730, nap at 9, wake up between 11 and 12, and be at work by 1:30. HA! Doubt it.
I canceled our cable. We have to come up with an amount close to my average monthly income (mine not Gee's) by June 20 in order to settle some past debts. Otherwise, well, I honestly don't know. Not working for 2 weeks is going to hurt. I think I will get an 8 hour paycheck. WOOOOOO!
Anywho, I am obsessed with Californication, and since I didn't cancel my internet, (I still have cable till Monday) I can watch it online. Plus, we have net.flix. An xbox. A library within walking distance. And PUPPIES! (M and A may be turning 4 and 3 on July 18 and August 18 respectively, but they are still PUPPIES!) And summer is coming. I want to spend my morning and evenings in a pool, afternoons at work, and nights sleeping or snuggling with Gee.
Anywho, back to Californication.

I still have not found my keys. And my employee informed me that she also lost her keys, and because one if a work key, BBBB wants to charge her to replace all the locks in the office and all the staff keys now. Which with 6 employees total in our county, and 3 doors, I think that could get expensive. Maybe I should confess to BBBB that I lost my keys and this employee and I? can split the bill? I bet BBBB would just want us each to pay the full amount.
And did I mentioned how BBBB told my staff to drive in the level 3? Maybe we should rethink this. Because I hit an idiot.
Saturday we were going to get 4-6 inches in the afternoon. Well, it started at 11 am and by 3 when I got off work, it was at 6 inches and still going. I was driving 20 mph down main street in this annoying college town that I work in most days, when suddenly I noticed all the cars in the other lane slowing down. I braked slightly but did not see anything. So, I continued at around 15 mph. Then I see why they slowed down, a giant truck was pulling out of a parking lot, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! So, I hit my brakes, and watched as 3 other cars spun out to avoid hitting this guy. But as you know, braking aint easy on ice. So, my 15 mph driving became a much faster mile per hour spin out, and my car did a 180.
I used to work at a chiropractor and I remember him saying "Yeah, it hurts less if you relax" and dammit I did very well, I locked my fingers around the wheel, and relaxed everything else. I was like a noodle. Then, since my back end was going to be the one hitting this truck, I turned my head to watch the impact like an idiot.
I slammed into his bumper, and gave him a shove forward, and wouldn't you know, te asshole kept GOING! So, I pulled into a Wendy's parking lot with 3 other cars (the others who had spun out) called 911 and waited. But guess what? All I knew was the truck was big, and blue. And no one else had a chance to see his license plate. So, somewhere, in this big world, is a guy with a baseball hat, driving a big blue truck, who owes me a hub cap!
Luckily, that is it. I may have some damage to the tire, but my hub cap fell off, and I was not walking back onto this icey road with all these idiotic college students driving like maniacs, just to find a hub cap. I like living, its nice, Iplan to keep doing it.
So, my poor car has had so much drama around it in the last few days, that I feel like kissing t for not falling to pieces.
Also, I should mention, my car did not need towed or anything, the dealer and tow company lied to me. I called AAA to see about getting the approval for the tow, and they informed me a locksmith with a special computer can make me a key and program the chip to my car, while it sits in my driveway. All for the bargain price of $110. So, FIFI, as I call my car, is good as new.
Also, I got a job as a maid. Hey, I have nothing against cleaning someone's house if I can have the wonderful normal hours of 9-5 and weekends off. So, I can go to school on evenings and weekends. LOVE IT!
While working as a maid I will be part time, but making more money than I am now! PRETTY COOL? (Public service is usually not a high paying job anyway, but my company also gets paid twice as much by the state as they pay me....so they make my wage for themselves for every hour that I work.) So, I will probably only work there 3 days a week.
Tomorrow I have an interview at another place, A PRESCHOOL! They want me to work in their special needs room as a sub. They expect me to work maybe 1 or 2 days a week (STILL NO WEEKENDS and I will have REGULAR HOURS!) and I will be making just as much there as I am now.
My current company probably wants me totally gone, but one of my consumer's is also my Goddaughter, and her mother has requested that I either A) visit her weekly, or B) get paid to visit her weekly. I like money, so I will probably stay on and only work with my Goddaughter who has Noonan Syndrome.
So, I will have 3 part time jobs and work fewer days and hours, and still end up making more money. I love it!
Also, I love blogging. Okay, I love comments. And the fact that I finally have a place to discuss BBBB and all the things she does, without listening to my wonderful husband tell me to just quit already. I am attached to my consumers. They become family. One of my friends saw that on my coach wallet I have a sticker of Scooby Doo, a bite mark, and a note hanging out that says, in very sloppy handwriting "I tank God evy day tat you halp me", they immediately mocked the note, but I kept it, because to me, it means that no matter what BBBB says, I am good at my job.
Somehow, blogging reminds me of this, maybe it is the release of my stress, or the comments of support, but either way, blogging has reminded me of why I love my job. Thank you Blogger.
Oh, and AF finally arrived. Damn woman only took 7.5 weeks!

Friday Night Leftovers

I will be joining Danifred in Friday Night Leftovers!
- I now have to get a key made. For a car with a microchip. From what I understand this entails getting a key ordered. Having key come in. Towing car to dealership, having them program the key to the car, and then being out atleast $200 for all of the above. All because I dug Gee out of the driveway.
- I am an idiot.
- The dogs are surprisingly peaceful today. I like it.
- My pregnant employee went off on me today because she got called in to work for me this morning. She says I am just making excuses not to work. Oh I Wish! That would be soooo much cheaper.
- And healthier as I have realized all the exhaust fumes really did me in.
- Also, said employee threatened to "kick my ass" next time she sees me. I love her. Gee, upon seeing me lying in bed trying to decide if I should remain professional or if I should just go crazy and I-am-a-15-year-old-girl on her, took my phone away and informed her that she is harrassing his wife, and threatening her, and that he will be calling the cops if she does not grow up immediately and knock it off. She sent one more text of "Call the cops! They cant protect her" and then stopped.
- Which might have had something to do with the fact that Gee called my BBBB and informed her that if said employee did not immediately stop, he would call the police, and because said employee was spouting things BBBB had told her, he would get my company, or atleast BBBB for slander. Apparently, it worked like a charm. Legal? I dont know or even care.
- I love Gee, even if he did hang up on me last night in the middle of my emotional breakdown.
- Also, does anyone have a healthy recipe for stroganoff? At 500 calories a serving, I feel disgusting everytime I eat it. But it is sooooo good.
- Someday I may share my recipe. Someone should remind me, and then I will share one of my 1000 ways to dress up mac and cheese.
- After 7 wks and 2 days, I still have not bled. I have started twice, just small spotting, but that is it! I took a test this morning. I have some black cohosh, and I am thinking about taking it because I got a BFN.
Thank you for joining me in my first ever (and boring because I am too tired) Friday Night Leftovers!
Now head over to Danifred's Sippy Cups Are Not For Starbucks and give her a blogging pep talk because she is feeling a little under the weather and she forgot why she enjoys entertaining us all so much!

I am not Professional.
We were at a level 3 snow emergency last night.
BBBB told my employees they still had to go in.
But because we are not considered "Emergency" workers, we were told by a police officer to stay off the roads.
I agreed with this and told BBBB that my employees lives are not worth 3 hours pay, and that our consumer's family lives with him anyway, they can pass meds if we cannot make it in.
BBBB yelled and screamed at me. Saying things such as "WE are going to lose his medicaid contract!" "His family are not staff" "Youre staff are being lazy!" etc. I said "No, you will not speak to me like this. Call me when you can control yourself." And then i hung up. I proceeded to call BBBB's boss, and he said "She is pregnant, what do you expect?" and i replied "Well, thats fine because I was pregnant a month ago, and i missed my chance to do this" and hung up on him.
No one has called me back. My employees arranged it so the ones who lived a block away could head in, and my employee who lives out by me (26 miles and 40 minutes on a good day) and I could sit on our asses today.
When I told my husband how much hanging up I did last night, he goes "Geez! Theyre gonna fire you now." They wont. How do I know? I am 12 days away from being gone, and they really do not want to pay unemployment. It took 4 no call no shows, countless call offs, countless last minute call offs, and 3 weeks of a girl (Who later said she had been trying to get fired for 6 months) just not doing her job, for them to fire her.
So, I am safe, and I am no longer professional. Atleast not if "Professional" are the same thing as BBBB and her boss are. I am nothing like that!

HELP WANTED!
And needed.
So, Wednesday will be 7 weeks since the miscarriage. I still have not bled. A friend of mine (old boss who is now pregnant!*) had an extra test. She took a test on my birthday and it was positive at like 11 at night after eating and drinking all day. I informed her that I would rather wait, but I hadn't peed all day, so I said what the hell.
BFN
But I am not taking it too serious. But I am also not getting my hopes up. Plus, from what the wise interwebs have told me, my uterine lining will be thinner since the miscarriage and it can take several cycles to get back to normal.
If I have not bled, Friday morning I am making Gee bring home a test for me to urinate on. I find myself urinating on a lot of sticks these days.
On a lighter note, my employee who bleeds every 28 days, and for 3 or 4 days each time, (she says she always starts after 1 pm but before 8 pm, how ODD?) had a condom break. She said she has been a wreck all weekend over it. But I am a smart cookie so I set off to do some math. If your first day of your last period was the 10th, and you had sex on the 28th, you are not pregnant. I know this because, I am a SMART COOKIE!
Oh, and BBBB will not be sued. Just because PregnantEmployee is doing her stna classes anyway, and is out of there after her maternity leave anyway. (She worked 72 hours last week and has realized why I hate my job. I love her now) (and no I didn't schedule her for that, she picked up 30 hours. I am not that mean)
*Old Boss became pregnant thanks to Doctor WONDERFUL! I am looking into him. He had a consultation with her in November, and looked at the blood work her old OBGYN ordered, and said "This test, this test, this test, and this test, are useless." She still had them done, and went back to her old OBGYN and they said "Everything is fine, you need IUI" So, they provided her with no reason for her miscarriage but said she needed IUI. She wanted a second opinion so she had ANOTHER FREE consultation with Dr. WONDERFUL and he informed her that her B6 is very low, that she has a chromosomal abnormality causing that, and that she does not need IUI as of yet. She took some vitamins and minerals, and BAM! She is pregnant within 3 weeks! They check her progesterone, she needed some. She has taken some. She is 9 weeks. FARTHER THAN SHE HAS EVER MADE IT! Very proud of her. And Dr. Wonderful!

I am a witch in love.
Okay the witch part. I feel so awful for thinking this so I just have to confess my sins.
My big big big boss is pregnant with her second.
We shall call her BBBB.
She announced her pregnancy in a work news letter that she sent out on Christmas Eve!
Meaning 9 days after I called her crying and told her I would not make it to my monthly meeting of assholes. Yes, I explained why. She said "It is okay I understand, have a day or two to relax."
Bitch.
I believe that the reason i miscarried may have something to do with my issues medically. But i also believe that someone is much more likely to miscarry if every morning at 9 am they have 4 voice mails of "Bobi, call me immediately there is an emergency"
And then Bobi calls and finds out that the emergency is that one of my staff members missed a box on their documentation. CALL THAT STAFF MEMBER! Not me. I know nothing about all of that since it is not my job to know.
But Thanks for the heart attack.
Or the meeting I had 3 days before where I was told I was responsible for fixing all of my last 4 bosses mistakes. (Which I still havent fixed because I cant fix 3 years worth of mistakes in a month. Nope. Cant.)
This boss is newer than I am and was only hired in because she is the high school BFF of the other 7 big bosses. Yes, I have 8 people, who do NOT communicate at all, (Well at least not about work related things) who call me constantly and bitch at me for their misunderstandings and their lack communication.
Yes, BBBB my paperwork is late. Why? Because I am locked out of my office (who is also someone else's home) because you promised to send my consumer something, and failed. So in their anger, they have locked me out. Fix it.
3 days later
Yes, other boss, I am locked out of my office because BBBB promised to send my consumer something, and failed. So in their anger, they have locked me out for the last 3 days. Didn't BBBB tell you that after I informed her?
"No she didn't. You should have personally called me!"
"But BBBB said she personally would tell you." And then other boss hangs up and BBBB yells at me for "tattling".
Yes, this IS the immature company I am working for.
Anywho, BBBB is pregnant and heartless. I have noticed she is missing work quite a bit. (Mind you I cant get off work to see my husband for more than 10 minutes a week and had to pull 4 different favors to get off when I had a temp of 103.7 2 days ago) And each time I find myself thinking"maybe she will miscarry and finally know what it feels like!"
Maybe this is because I know she announced her pregnancy the day she found out, or maybe it if just empty oven envy, but I feel awful for thinking it. But my coworkers agree.
Of the last 4 people in my position at work, 3 of them have miscarried. And ultimately, that is why they left. All of my coworkers know this. So, every time BBBB misses work, someone says "maybe it is her turn." or "i wonder if its the baby."
I just feel like an apology is owed, or some common courtesy or something!
Now for the Love.
Does anyone else look at their husband and think
OH EM GEE! THAT IS MINE! How did I get so lucky?
Because I get that feeling at least twice a week. I love him.
Bobi

Goodbye
2010
January-Finally over h1n1
February-Miscarried. Watched a woman I took care of die. Mental Breakdown
March-Watched the woman who truly taught me how to mother someone die. She had downs syndrome.
April-Lost my job due to medical issues BFN
May-started learning about blogs. Another woman I took care of died BFN
June-One year wedding anniversary. BFN Found out Grandpa was dying. Got new job
July-Grandpa died. Loved new job. BFN
August-hated new job. BFN
September-started working under new boss. Found out she was pregnant. She miscarried. BFN
October-Vacay. Got promotion. New boss, who by then was my bets friend quit. BFN
November-hated job. BFN at beginning of month. got employee from hell. 2 year anniversary of ttc
December-BFP red blood 9 hours later, totally gone by next morning. Had birthday. Old boss told me she is pregnant. Very happy for her, but cant stand how jealous i am. Big Big Boss lady goes over the fact that i missed 3 days for my miscarriage and in the same phone call tells me she is pregnant. With number 2. Bite me Hoebag!
So to sum it all up, I will not miss you 2010. You were the year from HELL!
But, as one of the developmentally delayed gentlemen i cared for always said "G'God, I am lookin' up"
So here is to 2011! May it bring baby dust to all, and forever be known as the year I got my baby. God Bless Everyone and may all your hopes and dreams for 2011 come true!

Not enough
One day off work is simply not enough for me. One day off until November 28th is inexcusable! I used to get 3 days off a week. Sure i worked 14.5 hour days but I LOVED IT! Now I am in my new position and even on my days off i get calls all day. Although my company did just announce that since i do not get on call pay, i don't have to answer and if it is important enough my staff can call our on call number who actually does get paid to answer the calls. But, even though i told my staff that yesterday, i still received 6 calls from 230 pm until 630 pm when i sent a mass text saying "I AM IN A MOVIE THEATER! WONT BE OUT EVER IF YOU KEEP CALLING ME"
It sounds harsh but i am normally a very receptive and flexible boss. But i am tired of calls every 5 minutes. Yesterday morning at 8:34 am i had 6 missed calls! I AM NOT OUT OF BED YET! And it was over something trivial that if someone thought for a minute, they could have solved their problem.
Anywho, i work at 10 am and my staff will probably call me to wake me up at 830, so i am going to bed. Just thought id stop by to vent.
Well, actually i intended to talk about my day, but i got sidetracked. I promise more to come soon!

My Boss
MyBoss is pregnant. I was hurt and insulted by that. Then she confided that it took her two years to get pregnant. I was happy, and elated for her success. She had a happy ending to the infertility struggle that we fight everyday. I was capable of being happy for her.
Until Wednesday.
On Wednesday as i went to go into work i found out my boss had miscarried. After work she noticed blood monday night, went to the hospital and they did a pregnancy test, it said she was still pregnant, and they put her on bed rest. She finally asked what her HCG level was, and they said 70! She is supposed to be closing in on her 9th week!
She knew then that she was losing the baby. She got home and within a few hours felt everything come out. She did the only rational thing she could think of, she grabbed some gloves, stuck her hand n the toilet and took it to the hospital. They wouldnt take it. So she took it to her doctor, he wont take it, he hadnt even been told she had miscarried and spent 2 minutes trying to find a heartbeat before my boss finally told the guy "Didnt you read what the hospital sent you you dumbfuck my hcg level was at 70 IM NOT PREGNANT!"
She is straight forward, i like that. She is dealing with it well in front of people, and im so honored that she is so honest about everything. Her husband has been dealing with it but not well. I think men forget that pregnancy isnt a guarantee, it can be only temporary.
I guess i feel closer to my boss now. She even changed my work schedule so i can avoid any hazards during my two week wait, she said "Better safe than sorry" Did i mention i love her?
